    How Shoney’s new menu caters to younger diners

    Last September, Shoney’s a 147-unit family-dining chain based in Nashville, rolled out a new menu to appeal to a younger, more food-focused crowd. Corporate executive chef Eric Cleveland discussed some of the changes, as well as finding the balance between attracting new customers and satisfying old ones.

    Shoney’s Unveils New Prototype

    Shoney’s, the Nashville-based chain founded in 1947 and operating in 16 states, will unveil its new design prototype in early 2017 at its Donelson, Tenn., location. The design brings Shoney’s up to date with a contemporary, warm and inviting space that pays homage to the brand’s heritage. The exterior features reclaimed wood, stone siding and a prominent backlit Shoney’s logo. Some new and existing locations will have a large outdoor patio that can be enclosed by sliding and garage-style glass walls for multiseason use.
